Links to cover the whole world of chess.
Link two is to the Derbyshire Chess Association's equivalent. Incidentally, if anyone in Derbyshire wants still more chess than their own club provides, you're welcome to play for us in Sheffield and good chess is guaranteed; but, to be fair to other clubs, you'd need to pay our sub rather than appearing as an occasional ringer.
Link three: the English Chess Federation. Lots of news of national events; the ECF grading list; details of competitions and congresses you can enter and the chance to play chess on the net, this very minute or any hour of day or night, for free, against players in Britain and abroad. This feature comes with a health warning: it's obviously taken over the lives of some participants.
Link four: chessgames.com. American website includes just about every significant game ever played between masters; the chance to chat to players all over the world; up to the minute info on major events all over the world; live chess from super grandmaster tournaments; the revolutionary opening explorer. Some of this costs an annual fee of about $20. A lot is for free.
